TriBL founder Ben Lloyd is a USAT Certified Level 1 Coach. He learnt the sport and achieved success while working 60 hours a week on Wall Street and living in Manhattan. Now as a coach he has the skills, understanding and ability to employ methods and provide schedules that take into account this type of work schedule while still ensuring your goals are met.
When you choose to embark on a coaching program with TriBL you will be starting a journey that will lead you to your goals and beyond. TriBL will work with you to establish the right balanced training program while never forgetting that you most likely have a job and a family.
At the outset TriBL will work with you to establish the appropriate Heart Rate Zones or if preferred Power Zones upon which to structure an analytical and measurable training program (read more below on Zone training). The choice is yours but one of these two zone based training methodologies will be at the basis of everything we do.
Whether you are a novice looking to navigate your way to the finish line for the first time or an experienced athlete looking to take your game to the next level TriBL can help you.
When you choose TriBL
If possible we will meet in person to discuss the process with an in depth discussion of your athletic background and any previous medical history that may be pertinent before undertaking an endurance training program.
TriBL will draft a training program and outline all the details based on a weekly or monthly basis depending on what level of coaching you choose. This will be flexible and can be adjusted as real life events inevitably take effect. The level and frequency of communication will depend on the coaching level undertaken.
TriBL works in partnership with the Asphalt Green Triathlon Club (AGTC) to provide these coaching services. Click here for more details on the basic programs offered. We can modify and adjust these programs as needs require it.
Heart Rate (HR) Zone Training
Through the use of VO2 max testing protocols performed at AGTC http://agtri.com/asphalt/docs.aspx?Page=tcoach or via established field tests we will establish the appropriate HR zones in which to undertake all your training.
The first step of executing an endurance training program is to understand how often and how hard you should be training. TriBL will ensure you are training at the right level.
Power Zone (PZ) Training
If you choose to be coached using the PZ method, which is only applicable to the bike then we will establish the appropriate zones using a Computrainer. The same principals apply as the HR method we just use a different metric. However to employ the PZ method more costly and sophisticated equipment will be required, beyond a basic HR monitor.
